How it works

Three steps.

01

Send your documents

Upload last year’s 568s plus your current-year numbers through SmartVault (SOC 2 Type II). The full list is below.

02

I check your stack

My software flags each LLC’s fee tier based on total California income, plus any missing $800 payments. Then I prepare the return and review it line by line.

03

I sign and e-file

You approve, I sign as your preparer and e-file. You can track each LLC in your client dashboard.

Intake checklist

What I need for each LLC

A prior-year 568 tells me how each LLC is set up. It doesn’t tell me this year’s numbers. The LLC fee depends on current-year total California income, so I also need:

  • The prior-year Form 568 (and Schedule K-1 (568) if any)
  • Current-year income and expense records: rent rolls, 1099-Ks, bank statements or a P&L
  • Proof of the $800 annual tax payment (Form 3522) and any estimated LLC fee payment (Form 3536)
  • Secretary of State entity number and any FTB notices

Turnaround: typically 5–7 business days after I have complete intake. Peak season may run longer, and I’ll tell you up front if it will.

Your 568 has to match your personal return

For a single-member LLC, the income on Form 568 also shows up on your own return: federal Form 1040 (Schedule C or Schedule E) and California Form 540. If different preparers handle each one, the numbers can drift apart. I can prepare your personal returns too so everything ties out. Ask for this when you get started.
